Craig V. Hamilton
Craig V. Hamilton is The Lena Goodwin Trimble Professor
of Music, Director of Bands, Coordinator of Instrumental Studies and
Chairman of the Music Education Department at Ouachita Baptist
University. Dr. Hamilton is active as a clinician and adjudicator in the
areas of Trumpet performance, Marching, Concert and Jazz Bands. He earned his Ph.D. in Music
Education from the University of North Texas, Master of Music Degree in
Trumpet Performance at Arkansas State University, and Bachelor of Music
Education Degree from The University of Southern Mississippi. The
Ouachita Bands, under Dr. Hamilton's leadership, have toured throughout
the United States and Europe, recorded with the Mark recording label and
performed at State, Regional and National conferences and meetings.
Dr. Hamilton is also conductor of the Hot Springs
Community Band and the South Arkansas Youth Wind Ensemble. He serves as
Instrumental Assistant at The First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia,
Arkansas. Dr. Hamilton is a marching band drill designer and arranger
for
Championship Show Design.
His performance analysis has been published in
Teaching Music Through Performance in Band.
Dr. Hamilton has served as the Arkansas State Chair for CBDNA. His professional affiliations and awards include Phi Beta Mu,
Pi Kappa Lambda, Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Music Educators
National Conference, The National Band Association, Arkansas School Band
and Orchestra Association, Arkansas Bandmasters Association, The
Association of Concert Bands and The College Band Directors National
Association. Dr. Hamilton and his wife Robin reside in Arkadelphia,
Arkansas with their two daughters, Callie and Dana.
